• What is a CSA?

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. Members of the community become members of the farm by purchasing a “share of the farm harvest”.

Members benefit by receiving weekly, fresh, pesticide free vegetables grown by people they know. The farmer benefits by having a predictable early income available to buy seeds and farm supplies. The farmer can also spend more time on the farm – farming, and less time trying to find markets for the vegetables. More time on the farm means better pest monitoring and healthier plants and animals.

CSA’s help keep local small farms farming and help preserve local farm land.

CSA members have a relationship with the person producing their food and can see the techniques used to produce it. Children can also visit the farm and learn where and how food is grown.

Work is not required in our CSA, but we will set up time one afternoon each week for members who would like to come over and help.
